Teamcycles.com had experienced a significant downturn in organic sessions and revenue after a migration to the Shopify platform. We were asked to rectify the downturn and improve their organic revenue.
Creativity & Implementation
Like most platforms, Shopify is fraught with technical SEO issues that hinder its performance in the search engines if it isn’t engineered correctly. Combine that with a poorly implemented third party migration process and you have major issues. We had to come up with a ‘high impact’ action plan that would address the sudden fall in organic sessions. A new ‘brand’ and product ‘type’ keyword strategy was carefully researched, designed and implemented for the entire site, to maximise targeted traffic and to eliminate metadata, keyword and content cannibalisation. Thousands of 404 errors were addressed with 301 redirects from the previous migration to minimise the loss of link equity, authority, traffic and rankings. Other technical issues that hindered crawlability and indexability were also addressed. Guidance was provided to the in-house content team for an effective content strategy. Furthermore, our content promotion outreach service helped to maximise brand visibility to their targeted audience, whilst attracting quality links to improve domain authority as no previous work had been carried out.
Although we are still continuing to work with Team Cycles to maximise their growth, in just under 12 months, our combined technical, content and outreach efforts delivered impressive results, including:
