Based in Stockton-on-Tees which is the location of their showroom, they are predominantly an online retailer. Although they only have a relatively short history they have managed to secure a number of high profile contracts with some of the UK’s finest furniture manufacturers.

The Challenge

This business was looking to establish themselves in one of the most competitive industries on the internet (furniture). Like many online buisnesses; they found themselves employing an digital marketing agency that delivered little or no growth and ROI over a 6 month period since their launch back in 2015.  With a significant amount of experience in the industry and their unique product range; The brand was confident they should have been turning over substantially more monthly revenue than what they were even after six months of trading online.

Creativity & Implementation

Tired of a constantly failing shopping cart and a total lack of progress, growth and ROI from their previous digital marketing agency; Turnbull & Thomas were recommended to us through ‘word of mouth’ for our reputation and expertise in e-commerce business growth which has been built up since 2010.  Like with all of our clients, we provided them with a strategic audit, health-check, and diagnostics of their current digital landscape in order to assess;

  1. Where are they now?
  2. Where do they want to be?
  3. How are they going to get there?

Technical SEO – our first task was to assess their existing platform and where it stood in relation to Google’s Quality Guidelines, Ranking Factors & Algorithms.  We’ve worked with almost every e-commerce platform out there and we’re yet to come across one that we haven’t been able to increase it’s exposure and improve its performance in the search engines as a result of fixing technical SEO issues that are inherent with almost every e-commerce platform out there. Over a period of time we technically re-engineered their existing e-commerce platform (as best as we could) in order to significantly improve exposure, rankings, traffic & conversions.

Paid Search - we completely re-engineered and optimised an existing ‘Google Shopping’ & ‘Search’ campaign for mobiles & desktops that allowed us manage and control budget & ROI at ‘product’ level.  Their previous campaign was delivering an exceptionally low monthly ROI and the whole campaign needed a complete overhaul.

Website Migration – since re-engineering their old platform as best we could – we’ve recently migrated Turnbull & Thomas to our own e-commerce platform.  Intelligent data insights and analysis showed us that their old site was considerably under-performing in key ‘UX’ & ‘performance’ metrics (against industry benchmarks) including; Sessions; Bounce Rate; Page Views; Basket Funnel Exits & more importantly; Conversion Rate.  Since migrating to our new own e-commerce platform (which is technically aligned with Google Algorithms & ranking factors AAP) – performance has drastically improved.
