The Situation

Partshopdirect.co.uk is the online brand for Power Tool Centre Ltd based in the heart of Liverpool City Centre.  Power Tool Centre Ltd took over the Black & Decker shop in Liverpool back in 1994 when Black & Decker decided to close all of its retail operations in the UK at the time. Since then, Power Tool Centre Ltd has become known, both locally and nationally, as one of the only and few Black & Decker, DeWalt and Makita approved repair, servicing and part shops, left in the country with 10’000s of items in stock at any one time and is one of the largest stockists and suppliers of these parts.


The Challenge

We have worked with Terry McKeown (owner) for nearly 5 years.  Terry approached us years ago when he was looking for a specialist ecommerce SEO company to help him launch and build his brand online to target a national audience online expanding on his existing local audience. The first challenge was to design build and engineer an ecommerce platform from scratch that would cope with 10’00s of products of powertool spare parts and accessories. The second challenge was to optimise a site with so many products and launch a new site and online business from scratch and make it successful.

Creativity & Implementation

After we designed, engineered and launched an e-commerce platform to cope with so many products and spare parts and making sure it aligned with all of Google’s quality requirements in terms of design, technical, content and merchant center guidelines – we set about building an SEO campaign that would assist in ranking 1,000’s and 1000’s of products and spare parts on the first pages of Google and other search engines.

A large Google Adwords Management campaign has also been ran for years with the next phase of the campaign due to go live with their new responsive e-commerce web design going live in May June of 2015.

Results Achieved

Although this site was built by us some years ago – the site performs magnificently when it comes to rankings, conversions and revenues.  The site was achieving 1000’s orders per month within 12 months and now converts considerable more.

Due to the success we have had with this site and this brand; we are currently completely redesigning the site and will be launching their new responsive ecommerce platform in May or June 2015 with lots more brands and we expect their site turnover to quadruple within 6-12 months.
